During his acceptance speech, Mazouz thanked his rabbis and parents for teaching him “what a moral compass should look like,” and thanked “Hashem (God) for bringing all of this into my life.”

The conference’s Sunday night dinner, attended by roughly 5,000 rabbis plus guests, has turned into such an oversize affair that Chabad says it could no longer find a suitable venue to stage it within New York City, so they are heading to Bayonne, N.J.
