When we set out to build a Hollywood Bureau for Jews in 2021, the idea was to do the same programs that every other Hollywood Bureau was doing for decades: academic entertainment studies to show the depictions of Jews with data (stay tuned for our upcoming study with the Norman Lear Center), build fact sheets, attend DEI panels, and conduct showrunner trainings. We are thrilled to let you know that we are doing all of this in only two short years since our launch. We are also organizing a Jewish Media Awards, in the likes of the NAACP Image Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, MPAC Media Awards, etc. We have an exciting set of awardees to announce, as well as a star-studded host committee for JITC’s 2nd Jewish Media Awards on November 12 at Lincoln Center – SAVE THE DATE.
We have married our inspiring All Star Awards to be featured alongside TV shows and films that depict proud and authentic moments, as well as a new category this year – the Lion of Israel Award. JITC Hollywood Bureaus calls out the problems when we see them, but on November 12, we will celebrate the progress being made!
Honorees who have contributed to proud and authentic Jewish storytelling will receive our Keter Shem Tov Award and include:
