“‘Fauda’ is one of the rare TV shows that elevates Sephardic and Mizrahi stories.” Emmanuelle Chriqui, a public pro-Israel advocate and proud Sephardic Jew, introduces “Fauda,” which won the Keter Shem Tov award at the 2nd Jewish Media Awards held at Lincoln Center on November 12, 2024. On the show, at the end of the fifth season, some of the soldiers are on the brink of death. They look up to the heavens and say the Shema. “With ‘Fauda,’ art imitates life, and life imitates art,” Emmanuelle said. “So many of our brothers and sisters had those same words on their lips on October 7th as their lives were violently stolen from us.”
