Matchmakers, start your engines. Former NBA player-turned-Orthodox Jew Amar’e Stoudemire has announced in a recent Instagram story that he is looking for a Jewish wife. Specifically saying that he is interested in being set up on a “Shidduch” date, Stoudemire shared his hope for remarrying and some aspects he is seeking in a life partner. Now a part of the Brooklyn Nets’ coaching staff, he lives in the borough and still has ties to Israel. He spent two years there going between a yeshiva and playing basketball for Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Tel Aviv. He has four children with his ex-wife, who he says are accepting and embracing of a Modern Orthodox lifestyle. Shidduch hopefuls should know that he said, “I express my love by action … Giving and making sure that she feels more important to me than anything. I love to receive love through affection and honesty.” Stoudemire is reachable for shidduch inquiries through his Instagram page. Read more here.
