Dubai’s Jewish Community Gets a Boost From Haredi Israelis

Although Rabbi Levi Duchman has lived in Dubai for more than half a decade, he has never had as much on his plate as he does now. During Chanukah, an unprecedented number of Israelis came to visit, asking for help with everything from minyanim to food to whether the local Starbucks uses camel milk in its coffee machines. All this was while he was breaking ground on the UAE’s very first mikvah and helping oversee the needs of the 40,000 Israelis who traveled to Dubai this month on fifteen daily nonstop flights bearing Torah scrolls, their small children in strollers and more.
