Hasidic Jew, Former US Treasury Assistant Secretary Wins At JITC’s 2nd Jewish Media Awards

At the 2nd annual Jewish Media Awards, held at Lincoln Center on November 12, 2024, Mitchell Silk, Hasidic Jew and former Assistant Secretary for International Markets at the U.S. Treasury, was honored with an Orthodox Jewish All Star Award for his groundbreaking public service career.

As the highest-ranking Orthodox Jew in U.S. Treasury history, Silk has exemplified what it means to bring Torah values to the global stage, leading with integrity and humility in times of international crisis.

In his acceptance speech, Silk reflected on the sacred duty to serve the Jewish People: “When our people, when our country cries out for help, we step in, we leave ourselves at the door, and we selflessly get the job done.” Through his service and leadership, Silk has shown how a life rooted in Jewish observance can intersect with profound responsibility and impact in the public sphere.
