Nissim Black, the Orthodox Jewish rapper who has made a new life for himself and found new musical inspiration in Israel was recently interviewed by Sheinelle Jones on The Today Show. Raised in a non-Jewish household, Black started rapping as a teen and eventually found Orthodox Judaism as not just an outlet, but the answers that he had been seeking all along. Discussing his upbringing in Seattle, his parents’ hard times, his discovery of religion and his conversion to Judaism, his recent renaissance as a rapper is also celebrated.
