Nissim Black, the former gangsta rapper who is now an Orthodox Jewish father of six in Beit Shemesh, Israel, returned to New York last week to headline concerts in Passaic, NJ and at the Israeli Consulate in New York. Along his journey, he has taken rap music and imbued it with spirituality, bringing his creative beats and flows to a whole new audience. He still counts iconic rappers RunDMC among his fans, as well as former President Barack Obama. The 34-year-old Black is thrilled to be in Israel. He says, “If you want to be great in entertainment, you move to LA, but to be great in spirituality, this was the place to be and I wanted that more than anything else.” Read more here.
