Gabi Grossbard, a former car salesman, IDF veteran and Orthodox Jew, is running for Congress in the 9th District in the Aug. 4 Republican primary for the chance to face Rep. Andy Levin this fall. The 9th District includes Huntington Woods, Bloomfield Township and Franklin, along with 19 other cities in Oakland and Macomb counties.

Nick Cannon Visits Holocaust Museum, Pledges Donation
After coming under intense fire for antisemitic comments made on his podcast, TV host Nick Cannon is working to make amends with the Jewish community. Cannon reached out to Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and the two met at Cannon’s home in Los Angeles last Thursday.

Without Camp, Kids Start Local Businesses
Miriam Schwartz, 13, of Pikesville had dreams of the fun activities she’d partake in and the new friends she’d meet at Camp Shoresh this summer. When camp was canceled, she turned her focus to the business she started in December of 2019, IBuild by Miriam, where she assembles Ikea furniture and the like. She is just one of many children taking up creative projects this summer to replace camps.
