Meet Orthodox Jewish All Star Shulem Lemmer, First Born Hasidic Jew to Sign With a Major Record Label

“I got an opportunity to [sing the Star-Spangled Banner at MLB] baseball games [through] Universal, and coming into such a place where you see tens of thousands of people, being who I am, the way I look, to just go onto the field and singing, there’s a moment there where everyone forgets who they are, what group they are, we’re all Americans, we’re all just here to enjoy the game. [Someone said,] ‘This is the best rendition I’ve ever heard. I’ve been working here in the stadium for 20-something years…’ It’s just about connecting one person to the other, and that’s an amazing feeling.”
