With the opening of Izzy Eidelman’s restaurant on the Upper West Side, a new cadre of kosher-keeping Jews have access to the most-trending fare in Manhattan: Smokehouse Barbecue. From smoked half-chicken to pulled beef tacos to Texas-style brisket, the menu of the beloved original Brooklyn Izzy’s is making a splash in its new digs as well. In the ten years since Texas transplant Ari White first opened his Wandering Que (formerly known as HaKadosh BBQ), Orthodox Jewish New Yorkers have fallen for the cuisine.
