As a mob attack on Jews dining at a West Hollywood restaurant where the attackers were heard yelling “Death to Jews” is investigated as a hate crime, Hollywood celebrities are speaking out about the 483%+ rise in anti-Semitic attacks in the past week. Mayim Bialik, Debra Messing, Sarah Silverman, Michael Rapaport and more have all posted variations of their support of Israel, condemnation of the spike in anti-semitic attacks and the relative silence of Hollywood and social justice advocates everywhere. In the wake of the horrific videos of beatings on the streets of New York, the West Hollywood attack and a vandalism attack on a kosher restaurant in LA’s San Fernando Valley, Bialik wrote, “I’m speechless and devastated by the antisemitic attacks in my home city as well as the vandalism very close to my home targeting Jewish businesses in the past 24 hours.” Messing named the statistic about the rise in attacks on Jews worldwide and condemned the misinformation about Israel being spread online.
