Orthodox Jews Receive Apology for Being Called “Extremist Voting Bloc”

The Orthodox Jews of Brooklyn received an apology for the highly questionable remarks made by Susan Lerner, who heads the government watchdog organization Common Cause New York, which describes itself as being “for the people.” She was interviewed last month about topics related to a candidate’s position on yeshiva education when she caused offense with her labeling comments. Although her comments were widely condemned, including by NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, weeks passed before the apology was issued. Although Lerner is Jewish, she seems to have some strong opinions about her Orthodox brethren and unfortunately seems them as a group, as opposed to individuals. Read more here.
