This month, not long after the historic peace accords between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, more and more Jews are coming to Dubai and finding signs of peace and harmony. Joseph Kohan, visiting from outside Jerusalem at the Middle East’s largest technology fair, saw this in action as Emiratis constantly approached him to take pictures with him and shake his hand. “This is the new Middle East,” Kohan wrote. “My sense is that I became one of the actors in the peace process, and being there, among the first to represent Israel, as well as being seen as Orthodox, gave me a bigger role… True peace is made by people,” he told me. “The political signatures come later.
