Orthodox Jewish Man Donates Entire World Poker Tournament Winnings to Charity

As we previously covered, Gershon Distenfeld participated in the World Poker Tournament this week and came in eighth place in the final game. Distenfeld donated his entire prize, an impressive $125,885, to charity. While it is common practice for the top poker players worldwide to donate some of their winnings, no one has ever donated all of them. His prize will be split between eight different charities which all help people in distress. As reported to Aish.com, Distenfeld sees himself as responsible for sharing his wealth with others, saying that he was “…blessed by God with financial resources and we always saw ourselves as responsible for using these resources that God gave us to do good with the world.” Read more here.
