Modern Orthodox Baltimorean Chanan Weissman is being announced by President Joe Biden as the new White House liaison to the American Jewish community. Currently the director of technology and democracy on the White House National Security Council, he will return to the post he held during the second term of former President Barack Obama. Weissman will work with leaders of major Jewish organizations, plan the annual White House Chanukah party and bring agenda items from the Jewish community to the administration. White House officials said, “We are thrilled to have Chanan Weissman serve as the White House’s liaison to the Jewish community.
