YU’s Maccabees Haven’t Lost an NCAA Basketball Game Since 2019

The Division III Yeshiva University Maccabees might not play on Shabbos, but that hasn’t stopped them from becoming the hottest squad in college hoops, having won 35 consecutive games despite Covid. In the three top divisions of NCAA sports, no team has a current winning streak as long as they do. Despite many setbacks, restrictions and quarantines, not to mention weathering their dual curriculum of Jewish and academic learning, the team is flourishing. Junior guard Ryan Turell is proud of the additional responsibility of representing the Jewish people every time he plays. He and his teammates are representing well, having not lost a game since November of 2019. It is the third-longest winning streak in the history of Division III basketball. Read more here.
