What does it mean to “rest” on Shabbat? And what exactly do you do on a day of rest? Watch this video to find out.
Allison is the Founder and Director of Jew in the City. Please find her full bio here.
amazing video allison!!! my fav maccabeats song too! great job!
Really nice! I love the soundtrack as well. Showed this to my five year old (who has lots of questions about shabbes) and she seemed to ‘get it’– as usual beautifully done, Allison.
Clear and to the point. A great thing is leaving the audience with a next step, namely Shabbat.com. Nice job.
I am just getting to know your blog n I have to say, I loved it!
thanks so much for what u r doing here. this is sooo important n helpful.
I just came across your jew in the city series
kol ha kavod to u for making judasim SO hands on and explaining all the issues involved so succintly and real
On ur shabbat video ,u mentioned that
‘shabbat is to recharge ur batteries for the rest of the week”
i feel that shabbat is a time to commune with ur family ,to commune with g-d, to commune with ur own growth, to realize what u are about ,what Gd is about etc
and lastly it is to recharge ur batteries for the coming week
Once again, kol hakavod to u

Video is informative but the cc text was not done by anyone Jewish and the words they use make it very confusing.
